Compliance Manager

About The Role

Under the direction of the Director of Compliance, the Compliance Manager will monitor compliance with all  applicable service delivery and management requirements under the HRA Emergency Housing Provider Management Program (EHPMP) as well as grant funded programs including; Food and Nutrition Services (FNS), Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT), Connections to Care (C2C), etc. The Compliance Manager will perform routine audits to identify potential compliance risks, create reports, monitor program data, and assist with program evaluation and improvement. Ensures organization adherence to all Company, City, State, Federal, and OTDA/DHS/HRA policies and regulations.

What You'll Do

  

  • Conduct routine audits to identify potential compliance risks and ensure that the agency is in compliance with the various contract requirements. 
  • Manages and reports compliance breaches and exposures to Director of Compliance.
  • Works directly with EHP and grant funded team members to monitor the quality of services provided across the program and make recommendations based on the findings. 
  • Maintains monthly reports on all quality assurance and monitoring activities as required including the metrics on program performance.
  • Works with different supervisory staff to develop and implement plans, strategies, and tasks that lead to ongoing program improvement and the utilization of best practices. 
  • Ensuring complete, accurate, and timely audit information is reported to the Director of Compliance.
  • Conducts the Agency Compliance portion of the Agency Onboarding training in which they review the various positions and their expectations, overall agency expectations, provide them with sample documents, run through various scenarios, etc. with all agencies New Hires. 
  • As directed by Director of Compliance, organizes, develops and facilitates QA training for applicable program staff to educate and implement the principles/processes of quality assurance as an operating strategy.
  • Assists programs in developing, implementing, and tracking quality improvement indicators; provides indicator data to Director of Compliance to analyze performance and monitor progress in accomplishing targets pursuant to DHS/HRA/OTDA mandates and regulations.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of compliance requirements and related laws and regulations as mandated or recommended by DHS, HRA, OTDA and other funding agencies.
  • Serve as a back up to the Front Desk staff during the early am, and or in the event of an emergency in which they will answer the telephones and assist staff with access to the facility.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of any relevant regulatory standards or compliance requirements.
  • Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Outstanding presentation and report writing skills, with the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Critical thinking skills Experience with Not-for-Profit Organizations required.
  • Experience with DHS, HRA, OTDA preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and ability to analyze data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Occasional travel required.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision. Must be able to travel within the five boroughs of New York City using all modes of public transportation.
